Starting a Business

Small businesses are a vital component of the BRAED region economy. Chamber of Commerce/Industry Associations

The Alberta Chambers of Commerce is a federation of 127 Chambers of Commerce that ensures its members' business (22,000 businesses) interests are improved through the development and advocacy of policy to government. Efforts of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce are coordinated with its local Chambers of Commerce to achieve the lowest possible tax and regulatory environment.

There are numerous industry associations in Alberta. The associations provide members with various benefits including networking, government contacts, business related discounts, coordinate training and providing general information. The Industry Association Listings provide a list of associations and groups with offices in Alberta.

Government Programs

Alberta Employment and Immigration publishes a document that briefly describes over twenty-five programs related to community and regional economic development.
