Median Income Level
From 2005-2006, Alberta experienced the fastest growth in median income of all provinces and territories, increasing by 10.4%, with Canada’s median income increasing by almost 5%. Compared to other provinces, Alberta had the highest median income in 2006 at $78,400 and from 2002 to 2006; Alberta’s income had increased by over 27%.

Cost of Living
Albertans pay the lowest overall taxes of any province in Canada with the lowest top marginal income tax rate and the highest basic and spousal amounts. Alberta is the only province without a provincial sales tax. Albertan’s also pay the lowest gasoline taxes and have some of the lowest property taxes in Canada.

From the business perspective, Alberta’s encourages investment and allows companies and industries to compete and succeed. Alberta’s business advantages include low taxes, skilled and educated workforce and modern infrastructure. Alberta businesses benefit from having among the lowest corporate income taxes in Canada and no general payroll or capital taxes.

With direct connections to two of North America's largest highway trade corridors, quick and efficient access to the enormous markets of the Pacific Northwest, California and Central Canada is available.
In addition, the Pacific Rim is easily accessible due to an exceptional inter-modal system linking Alberta to the tide-water port of Vancouver.
